Materiel: Woodcut printed on textile

Size: 15 x 21 cm.

“Ubeskyttet/Unprotected” is the title of the work, which is about letting go of your child in trust that the world is also caring. I have drawn a fetus just before it is born, based on an older graphic print that is part of a frieze with a fetus in 5 different stages of development in a woman’s belly. The frieze has hung in my grandmother’s house; her gymnasium where she taught pregnant women about birth preparation. My drawing has been transferred to wooden fins and printed on an old duvet cover.
